Trump Criticizes the Supreme Court Again: A Single Decision Could Cost the United States Trillions

On April 6th, Trump publicly spoke out once more, directly targeting the Supreme Court. He stated that if the judges thoroughly understood the analyses regarding "birthright citizenship," they would not allow this system to continue. In his view, this is not only a legal issue but also a matter of judgment. He also mentioned the Supreme Court's decisions on tariffs, believing that these rulings have already caused the United States to lose potential gains worth hundreds of billions of dollars. Trump warned that if similar decisions continue to be made, they could have a greater long-term impact on the country's economy. Essentially, this reflects a conflict between policy judgment and real economic interests—when institutional design is disconnected from actual benefits, the costs can be very high.
