Recently, a quite interesting post has been circulating online — it turns out Kimbal Musk, Elon’s brother, suddenly started criticizing Trump and his tariff policies. The guy wrote that the president imposed a structural tax on American consumers, which is quite a bold statement. But who exactly is this Kimbal Musk, about whom few people know?

Here's an interesting story. Kimbal is 52 years old and a billionaire, although his net worth of $700 million mainly comes from owning 0.04% of Tesla shares. He clearly lives in the shadow of his famous brother but has his own story. Elon and Kimbal have a lot in common — both were born in Pretoria, have the same square jawline, straight nose, and green eyes. Plus, both hold South African, Canadian, and American citizenship. But the main difference between Kimbal Musk and his brother is that he always wears a cowboy hat — it’s his signature style.

The Musk family history is complicated. Along with his younger sister Tosca (, they experienced violence from their father, which led to their mother Maya’s divorce in 1979. After that, the family emigrated to Canada, then to the United States. Interestingly, both brothers co-founded Zip2 — a startup providing business software for the internet. They sold it in 1999 to Compaq for $307 million. Not a bad start for two guys from Africa, don’t you think?

What’s funny is that despite Kimbal Musk criticizing Trump, and Elon seeming to be on good terms with him, the brothers love each other deeply. Blood doesn’t water, as they say. Musk family members are very close, and this is evident in how they support each other despite their different political views. That’s the story of a less well-known but no less interesting member of the Musk clan.
