I've been following some interesting projects in the DeFi 2.0 space recently and wanted to share my observations.

First is Kadena, which has a quite unique approach. Instead of following the trend with PoS, it adheres to PoW but solves scalability issues through DAG principles and a multi-chain architecture. Currently, it runs 20 parallel chains, allowing transaction validation to occur simultaneously. This ensures security while reducing energy consumption compared to single-chain PoW. They also introduced a gas station feature, enabling merchants to pay gas fees on behalf of users, which is attractive for commercial applications.

Uquid Coin takes a different route by directly combining DeFi with e-commerce. UQC, as an ERC-20 token, circulates within the Uquid ecosystem, supporting payments, staking, and governance. Their Uquid Shop offers over 40,000 digital products and has integrated a liquidity mining mechanism called shopping mining. This approach of linking virtual goods with DeFi tools seems to be exploring a market space that few others are targeting.

Alchemix's innovation lies in its self-paying loan model. You deposit collateral, and the borrowed amount is automatically repaid through the yield generated by the collateral, eliminating the need for users to manually repay loans in traditional DeFi lending. The platform has built-in risk management, and their fee rates can be reduced by about 80%, pointing to more efficient capital operations. The ALCX token is used for governance, and there’s long-term potential for growth.

KlimaDAO has a more specialized focus, operating an on-chain carbon credit marketplace. By tokenizing carbon assets, it provides a more accessible channel for carbon offsetting, allowing both individuals and institutions to participate. Although this eco-friendly DeFi 2.0 project is still in early stages, if carbon market policies remain supportive, it has significant growth potential.

Overall, these DeFi 2.0 projects address different dimensions—scalability, application scenarios, user experience, and social value. The market is diversifying and moving beyond a single paradigm. If you're interested, you can check out the market data and related info for these projects on Gate.
