I’ve just compiled a few great books about crypto that I want to share with everyone interested in this field.
Honestly, when you first step into the world of cryptocurrencies, the hardest part is finding reputable materials to learn from. I’ve read quite a few crypto books and found that a few are truly worth it.
The first one to mention is "The Bitcoin Standard" by Saifedean Ammous. This book thoroughly explains the history of Bitcoin since its inception in 2008. Ammous is an economics professor, so his writing style is quite academic but easy to understand. This book is valuable because it places Bitcoin within the context of monetary history, helping you understand why Bitcoin has value instead of just being a number on a screen. After reading, you'll have a clearer perspective on issues like energy consumption and concerns about criminal activities.
If you want to better understand the current monetary system, "The Fiat Standard," also by Ammous, is a good choice. This book compares centralized paper money with digital currencies, helping you see the differences between the old and new systems.
Now, if you’re not just interested in theory but also want to start investing, I recommend "The Only Cryptocurrency Investment Book You Need." This book stands out because it focuses on practical actions—how to store your funds, which cryptocurrencies are popular, and how to begin your investment journey. It’s published by Freeman Publications, a network of data-driven investment advisors. Its strength lies in using simple language without complicated jargon.
The book "The Truth About Crypto" by Ric Edelman is also worth mentioning. Edelman is a New York Times bestselling author, so his writing is very accessible. This book covers everything from Bitcoin, Blockchain, NFTs, to other digital assets. Most importantly, it offers practical advice on investment opportunities.
The last book I want to introduce is "Bitcoin and Blockchain Basics" by Antony Lewis. Lewis is a former trader turned blockchain expert, so he writes from real-world experience. This book is suitable for both beginners and those wanting a deeper understanding. The best part is that it not only explains the theory but also warns about risks when investing in cryptocurrencies, how to avoid scams, and how to choose secure wallets and exchanges.
Overall, these crypto books each have their own value depending on your goals. If you want to understand the historical foundation, choose Ammous. If you want to start investing immediately, go for the investment book. If you prefer an accessible writing style, Edelman is a good choice. And if you want a comprehensive book covering both theory and practice, Lewis is the one to trust.
