You know, I came across a story that really amazes you. It turns out that Ted Jorgensen, the owner of a small bike shop in Arizona, lived 69 years and didn’t know that he was the father of one of the richest people on the planet. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is his son. He found out completely by chance, when Bezos’ biographer told him.
Ted Jorgensen saw photos of his son and was simply in shock. He admitted that he wasn’t a good father and husband. That sounds kind of sad, honestly. He tried to get back in touch with the Bezos family, but he never established any contacts. It’s really interesting how something like that is even possible—to live your whole life and not know about such a fact.
Ted Jorgensen remained in the story as the person whose life intersected with the empire Amazon in the most unexpected way. The story isn’t very cheerful, but it’s definitely memorable.
