Have you ever been in a crypto or trading community and heard people say "the market is bullish" without understanding what they mean? 😅 I’ve been there too, until I realized they’re just animal comparisons.

Actually, the story is quite interesting. "Bullish" comes from the word "Bull" (, because when a bull attacks, it raises its horns from below. This image symbolizes rising prices, an upward trend. Conversely, "Bearish" comes from "Bear" ), because when a bear attacks, it slams down with its claws from above, representing a downward trend.

So when someone says "the market is bullish," they mean they expect prices to go up. And "bearish" means they think prices will go down.

I was curious why these terms are used instead of simply saying "up" or "down." It turns out that as early as the 18th century, financial traders started using these animal comparisons to describe market movements. It’s easy to understand, easy to remember, and this way of speaking has spread worldwide to this day.

Two simple words: Bullish = Up 🐂, Bearish = Down 🐻. These animals are just classic metaphors, but they continue to be used in the trading world today.
