You know, there's a story about Elon Musk's brother that sounds like a movie script. Kimbal Musk—that's his name—and he seems to live in a completely different reality than his famous brother.
Recently, Kimbal posted something quite sharp on X about Trump and his tariff policies, calling it a structural tax on American consumers. And then—here's the interesting part—he started criticizing Elon himself. But what's funny is that despite their disagreements, these two really love each other. Blood hasn't spilled, as they say.
Kimbal Musk is a 52-year-old guy with a net worth of around $700 million, mostly from Tesla stock. But what really sets him apart? He constantly wears a cowboy hat. Seriously, that's his thing. Along with Elon, (who is 53), they were born in Pretoria, and they share the same square jaw, straight nose, and green eyes. Plus, they hold dual citizenship—South African, Canadian, and American.
Their story began with a tough childhood. Along with younger sister Tosca, the family faced domestic violence, which led to their mother Maya's divorce in 1979. After that, they moved to Canada, then to the US. And it was here that Kimbal Musk and Elon founded Zip2—a startup that provided business software for the internet. They sold it in 1999 to Compaq for $307 million. Not bad for a start, right?
