Two American F-15 fighter jets were shot down in Iranian airspace. One pilot was rescued, but there is no news about the other. This is the first time Iran has shot down a manned American aircraft.

Two Black Hawk helicopters involved in the rescue mission were attacked by Iranian gunfire, resulting in injuries to the crew members, but they are currently safe.
Another A-10 attack aircraft was hit by gunfire over Iran and crashed in Kuwait.
