Just scrolling and I come across this ranking of the poorest countries in the world in 2024... It's crazy how the situation remains critical in some regions.

Sub-Saharan Africa dominates by far: South Sudan, Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Niger... the list is long. Then you also have Mozambique, Malawi, Liberia, Chad, which are really struggling. Madagascar and Somalia complete the bleak picture.

Beyond Africa, there’s Haiti in the Caribbean and small states like Kiribati and the Solomon Islands among the poorest countries in the world. Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea... places where economic challenges are huge.

The Gambia, Mali, Zimbabwe, Togo, Guinea, Rwanda, Uganda, Lesotho, Guinea-Bissau, Comoros, and Tanzania round out this rather depressing top 30. It puts our little problems into perspective, honestly. These are regions that really need sustainable solutions, not just temporary aid.
