JUST IN: Matt Mullenweg, co founder of WordPress, responded to Cloudflare's launch of EmDash with a scathing critique, asserting that the project doesn't share the spirit of WordPress, fails to fundamentally address plugin security, and, in practice, functions best as a way to reinforce dependence on the Cloudflare ecosystem.
Mullenweg stated that EmDash cannot be called the spiritual successor to WordPress because it relies on a specific infrastructure and doesn't prioritize full portability.
