Türkiye's BIST 100 Opens Tuesday with Gains

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s benchmark equity index clawed back ground at Tuesday’s open, with the BIST 100 advancing 0.19%, or 24.24 points, to reach 12,650.59 points — partially recovering from the prior session’s losses.

The index had slipped 0.57% on Monday, settling at 12,626.35 points by the closing bell, as trading activity reached 109.6 billion liras — equivalent to approximately $2.46 billion — over the course of the session.

By 11:00 a.m. local time (08:00 GMT) on Tuesday, the Turkish lira was changing hands at 44.4790 against the US dollar, 51.0750 against the euro, and 58.8015 against the British pound.

On the commodities front, gold surged to $4,564.60 per ounce, while Brent crude futures held firm at $106.40 per barrel.
