This is FOMO—Fear Of Missing Out—and logically speaking, it is one of the most expensive emotions a trader can have.
When you chase a green candle, you are essentially buying into someone else's profit-taking zone. You are entering the market at a point where the risk-to-reward ratio is at its worst. While your emotions tell you that $BTC or $ETH will keep going up forever, the data usually suggests a mean reversion is coming. Chasing the hype means you are no longer following a strategy; you are letting the market dictate your actions based on your fear of being left behind.
The durability of your portfolio depends on your ability to say "I missed this one, and that’s okay." There will always be another trade, another narrative, and another cycle. A disciplined trader waits for the pullback, the consolidation, or the next logical entry point. If you didn't catch the move at the bottom, don't try to catch it at the top. Patience is what separates a professional from a retail exit-liquidity provider. Keep your head cool, stick to your levels, and let the FOMO pass.
