Is Binance really afraid of being replaced by DEX? In CZ and He Yi’s minds, they might have already sensed the countdown approaching.
And their most feared opponent is Hyperliquid. If a fear score of 100 means total terror, Binance’s fear of it is at least 120.
The most direct evidence: Binance has yet to launch Hype spot trading. Interestingly, OKX has, and Coinbase has as well. Why doesn’t Binance dare to list it?
Because of fear. Fear of this powerful competitor, so they refuse to give it any opportunity—even just to list a spot trading pair.
For a real threat, only complete elimination will do. But this reaction exposes Binance’s bravado: outwardly strong and invincible, yet in reality like the Soviet Union of the 1990s—seemingly indestructible, but perhaps just one small accident away from triggering a domino effect and collapsing suddenly.
