I just found out that something pretty crazy happened with the full moon in March. It turns out that on the 3rd there was a total lunar eclipse, not just a regular full moon. Literally, the Earth was between the Sun and the Moon and completely covered it with its shadow. That’s why it looked red, like a Blood Moon, which is what they call it when it takes on that coppery hue.

The interesting thing is that here in Argentina, it was perfectly visible. The full moon in March rose around 7:34 PM and was visible until the next morning. Also, it turns out that the Indigenous peoples of North America called it the Worm Moon because it coincided with the time when worms started appearing after the thaw. Very specific.

Now I also found out that 2026 will have a total of four eclipses. Two lunar and two solar. The one in August was a total solar eclipse, and there will also be a partial lunar eclipse in August. Honestly, if you’re into astronomy, this year is pretty busy with these events. I had no idea that the full moon in March coincided with all this; I thought it was just a normal full moon.
