I just read that Paula Santilli retired from PepsiCo after 35 years with the company. She was CEO of Latin America Foods and apparently played a significant role in the region's growth. Now Athina Kanioura is taking her place, although Paula Santilli will continue to support the transition until July of this year.
What’s interesting is that Paula Santilli wrote a very heartfelt message on LinkedIn about passing the role to Athina, calling her an exceptional leader. It seems like this was a planned and well-thought-out transition, not one of those abrupt exits you sometimes see in large corporations.
Athina comes with experience in digital transformation and has worked at major brands like Mondelez, Unilever, P&G. Honestly, these leadership changes in multinationals always generate expectations about where the company is headed. Is anyone else following these moves at PepsiCo?
