I just saw the news that Kite has been recognized by Google as a partner in the so-called Agent Payments Protocol. The idea behind Kite itself is a Layer 1 for AI agents to perform payments, and now it officially joins this ecosystem alongside more than 100 organizations like Mastercard, PayPal, Shopify. This is actually a clear sign that major tech companies are taking the smart agent economy seriously. Not only Kite, but Adobe, Walmart, Cloudflare are also involved in this. Interestingly, Kite is betting on building a secure payment infrastructure for these AI agents, rather than just participating for fun. This seems to be a significant step forward for the project, especially as it’s being widely adopted by big names. I don’t know how this ecosystem will develop, but at least it shows a clear trend.
