Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said at an all-hands meeting that, thanks to developments in artificial intelligence, he expects Amazon Web Services (AWS) to reach $600 billion in annual sales in the future—double the target he had previously projected.

In response to concerns from Wall Street about Amazon’s plan to invest roughly $200 billion in capital expenditures this year, Jassy said this is not blind investment, but rather that he has seen “very clear and strong demand signals.” The funds will be deployed early to build out foundational infrastructure such as land, power, chips, and servers.

AWS sales in 2025 were $128.7 billion (up 19% year over year). Amazon expects to complete its 1 millionth drone delivery this year; in addition, some Fresh and Go physical stores that were closed in January accounted for less than 1% of the company’s total grocery sales.
