I just realized that February 13th is not only for lovers. There is Singles' Day, which is basically the anti-Valentine’s Day, spontaneously emerging on social media as a way for people without partners to also have their moment. I find the idea interesting, honestly.

The thing is, this day is about celebrating independence and the freedom to be alone, without relying on someone else to validate your happiness. Many quotes I’ve seen talk about how being single is a space for growth, self-discovery, and building your well-being from within. A single person can prioritize their dreams without guilt, manage their time as they wish, and live without external pressures.

What catches my attention is that the core message isn’t about being bitter or against love, but about recognizing that happiness doesn’t depend on marital status. Being alone isn’t being incomplete. Emotional autonomy is an achievement, and many people discover a more authentic version of themselves through singleness.

So happy Singles’ Day to those who enjoy their independence, respect themselves, and consciously choose how to live. There’s no single right way to do it, right?
