BYD EV subsidies did not increase
In the Japan–U.S. tariff negotiations, Japan agreed that U.S. automakers would be able to obtain EV (electric vehicle) subsidies more easily. Subsequently, the Japanese government revised the EV subsidy starting in January, raising the cap by 400,000 yen.
The increase in subsidies will be determined based on the prior amount. Toyota and U.S. Tesla, among others, increased by 400,000 yen to reach the cap, and can receive subsidies of more than 1 million yen. BYD’s subsidy is only 350,000 yen, so it did not increase.

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun and the Financial Times merged in November 2015 into the same media group.
