I just found out something I didn't know: spring in the United States lasts exactly 92 days and 17 hours. Sounds very specific, right? It all begins when the equinox occurs on March 20 (this year was recent) and ends on June 20 when summer arrives. So basically, we have three months of transition.

The most interesting thing is that the equinox doesn't always fall on the same date. It depends on how our calendar aligns with the actual movement of the Earth around the Sun. That's why the length of spring in the United States can vary slightly from year to year, and the equinox sometimes occurs on March 19, 20, or 21 depending on where you are. In 2026, it was exactly on Friday the 20th at 10:46 a.m. (Eastern Time).

During those three months, something fascinating happens: days and nights are almost the same length, and then the days start getting longer and longer. Temperatures gradually rise, plants bloom, animals wake up... it's as if all of nature comes into motion at the same time. That's why many species begin their migration or reproduction right during this period. Pretty crazy when you think about it.
