I just found out that in Edomex there is a limit to avoid paying vehicle tax this year, and honestly, it's quite tight. The deadline is April 6th, so if you live there and have a car worth up to 638,000 pesos, you still have time to take advantage of the 100% discount. You just need to do the registration renewal and that's it—you save the full vehicle tax. The interesting part is that you can do it online or in person, although honestly, online is easier. You need the license plate, VIN, RFC, and email. If you go in person, bring ID, registration card, and proof of address. The renewal costs 990 pesos for private cars, so it's not too much compared to what you save on vehicle tax. The thing is, this limit to avoid paying vehicle tax in the State of Mexico only applies until April 6th, so if you have a vehicle there, don’t sleep on it. After that date, the discount ends, and you'll have to pay the regular vehicle tax. Some say it's an incentive for people to regularize their paperwork, but the important thing is that there's an opportunity if you hurry.
