I'm looking for a friend-making app, but there are so many options, it's hard to choose. Recently, I tried a few and realized that the features are completely different for women and men.
First, for women-only apps, Favomatch, Touch, and Dote Match seem to be safer and easy to use. Especially for those looking for friends to support their favorite idols, Favomatch's search function is very convenient. It makes it easy to connect with people who share the same interests. However, since it's women-only, it's not suitable for those who want to make friends of the opposite sex.
Then, there are apps like Bumble's BFF mode and Tantan that can be used by both men and women. Bumble is particularly attractive because of its low cost. Men can use it without much financial burden. However, I feel that the search functions are more comprehensive in women-only apps.
For those in their 30s and above, specialized apps like Somuri are interesting. It's easier to find friends in the same age group, and being able to filter by whether you have children or your day off is very practical.
Ultimately, the app you choose depends on what you prioritize. If safety is your main concern, go for women-focused friend matching apps. If you want to make friends of the opposite sex, Bumble is a good choice. If you're looking to connect over specific hobbies, specialized apps are the way to go. Personally, I think installing and trying multiple apps is the most reliable approach.
