Odaily Planet Daily reports. According to The New York Times, U.S. officials say that multiple U.S. intelligence agencies have recently assessed that the Iranian government currently is not willing to engage in substantive negotiations to end the war between the U.S. and Iran. Officials said the assessments conclude that the Iranian government believes it holds a strong position in the war and therefore does not need to yield to the U.S. diplomatic demands. They said that although Iran is willing to keep communication channels open, it does not trust the United States and believes that President Trump is not negotiating in good faith. Over the past year, Trump has ordered attacks on the country twice during negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program. These assessments are consistent with Iran’s officials’ recent statements. U.S. and Iranian officials said the two countries are exchanging information through intermediary countries, and possibly also through direct channels, but they have not been negotiating the terms for a ceasefire or for ending the war.
