"Super Bubble" energy absorption capacity is 10 times that of traditional materials
Scientists from Texas A&M University in the United States and the Army Research Laboratory have collaboratively developed a “super foam” by ingeniously combining ubiquitous ordinary foam with elastic posts produced through 3D printing, resulting in a material with energy absorption capacity increased to 10 times that of traditional composite materials. This low-cost, lightweight, and durable innovation is expected to introduce new materials to the fields of defense, automotive, aerospace, and consumer products. The related research was published in the latest issue of the journal Composite Structures.
