I just saw that Checo finished tenth in the last Cadillac preseason tests, almost 9 seconds behind Leclerc. Honestly, it's not too surprising given it's the team's first year in F1, but what's interesting is that the Mexican driver seems quite calm about it.
According to Checo, the important thing now is that the car feels balanced and they've improved quite a bit in each session. He says they knew from the start it would be challenging, but the focus is on how quickly they can develop from here. Makes sense, right? When you're a new team, you need to lay a solid foundation.
What caught my attention is that both Checo and Bottas are constantly helping to identify improvements. The biggest challenge will be developing faster than McLaren and Red Bull throughout the season. Leclerc posted the best time of the day with Ferrari, so the competition is there. Do you think Cadillac can be competitive by mid-season, or will they need more time?
