Ireland just did its job. They beat Scotland 43-21 at home and are now at the top of the Six Nations with 19 points. But here’s the interesting part: it all depends on England beating France in Paris this evening. If that happens, Ireland takes the tournament. If not, France keeps the title.
Scotland came into the match with championship options, but they were behind on the scoreboard almost the entire game. They fought hard, honestly, but Ireland was more intense, dominated contact, and was lethal in attack. The Irish scored four tries in the first 20 minutes, and it was basically decided there, although the game remained exciting until the end. Scotland showed character but made more mistakes.
The strange thing is that Ireland started this tournament weakly, losing to France when they seemed to be playing in another galaxy. But from there, they recovered, crushed England, and now beat Scotland. So they’re ending in good form, waiting for that English miracle in Paris. Ireland hasn’t won the Six Nations in years, so this would be a big deal for them. Do you think England can surprise France?
