The Iranian parliament is currently studying the issue of withdrawing from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
People’s Finance News, March 30: According to the local time on March 30, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Baghaee said that Iran has never, and will never, seek to develop nuclear weapons. Iran’s position is clear: it opposes any weapons of mass destruction, and attributes related issues to the International Atomic Energy Agency and the “destructive practices” of some countries. He said that one of the issues currently drawing domestic public attention in Iran is that if certain hegemonic powers do not allow Iran to enjoy the rights stipulated in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, continuing to remain in that treaty would be meaningless. Baghaee also said that regarding the question of whether to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, it is currently being studied at the level of Iran’s parliament.
