What’s the use of a “washing machine” that can’t wash clothes?

Actually, it’s a domestic laser weapon

How strong is it, really?

Let’s take a look at the real strike scene together ↓

“The Arrow-11E” relies on laser pulses

Instantly “blinds” drones

The device looks a bit like a shipping container; it’s the “Arrow-11E” multi-mode composite terminal jamming system.

In the battlefield, “low-slow-small” drones typically use covert infiltration, flying at altitudes that fall into the detection blind spots of traditional radar. When countering incoming threats, “Arrow-11E” acts like a quick-reacting guardian.

“Arrow-11E” achieves precise target neutralization with pulsed laser. It directly hits the drones’ core components, instantly “blinding” them and causing them to lose combat capabilities such as reconnaissance and data transmission.

“The Arrow-21A” is known for “hard-kill” effects

Burns down drones several kilometers away

Fiber-optic drones are widely used in modern warfare. Their biggest feature is that they transmit flight data and video in real time to the pilot via fiber optics, making them difficult to jam electronically; to deal with them, one often has to choose to shoot them down.

“The Arrow-21A” uses a “walk-and-shoot” response mode. This allows it to maintain firepower suppression while also avoiding being easily locked by the enemy due to staying still.

Judging by the strike mode, “Arrow-21A,” with its “hard-kill” capability, can form high-density energy beams at distances of several kilometers, continuously acting on the drone’s body structures. In a short time, it can punch through the target drone’s outer shell and burn out internal circuits or the propulsion system.

One soft and one hard coordinating in combat

“Destroy on sight”

With two combat modes—one “soft” and one “hard”—each targeting objectives at different ranges and threat levels, it perfectly fills the gaps in their respective combat envelopes.

As a combat “teammate,” “Arrow-21A” and “Arrow-11E” both carry active phased-array radar and infrared reconnaissance systems. They can interconnect and exchange information in real time through a dual “wired + wireless” approach, precisely completing target locking and identification.

Zhou Shuiliang, from the China Aviation Industry Corporation’s Manufacturing Institute, said that laser weapons, as a new-domain, new-type equipment, are highly capable. Through diversified detection and intelligent identification, they automatically allocate strike firepower, with strong reaction speed and battlefield-environment adaptability. In system-level combat, the two types of equipment can achieve a combination of hard and soft effects and coordinated operations. They can also quickly link up with warning and detection systems such as radar and electro-optical sensors, forming a closed loop of “destroy on sight,” ensuring the safety of key domains and key areas.
