Report: China Brain-Computer Interface Funding in the First Three Months of 2026 Surpasses Last Year’s Total
April 1, Beijing’s Fourth Wave Technology Think Tank and Zhongguancun Tiancheng Innovation Research Center released the “China Brain-Computer Interface Commercialization Outlook Report.” The report shows that since 2025, brain-computer interface companies’ fundraising has entered an unprecedentedly active period; in the first three months of 2026, the total amount of fundraising for brain-computer interface companies has already exceeded the full year of 2025.
In 2026, “brain-computer interface” was written into the Government Work Report for the first time, as one of the future industries重点培育 during China’s “15th Five-Year Plan” period. Researchers in the report analyzed and conducted research on more than 80 brain-computer interface companies in China, widely solicited opinions from industry experts, and made forecasts about the market outlook for this cutting-edge industry.
The report shows that to promote the development of the brain-computer interface industry, the National Venture Capital Guidance Fund, representing the “national team,” was officially launched in December 2025. Funded by funds from ultra-long-term special government bonds, it listed “brain-computer interface” as one of seven key investment areas.
Multiple regions have established special funds for the brain-computer interface industry. For example, Beijing in February 2026 released the “Zhongguancun Science City Technology Growth Phase IV Fund” with a total scale of 8 billion yuan, of which the 1 billion yuan industrial direct investment portion clearly targets future industries such as brain-computer interfaces; Shanghai is promoting the establishment of special funds with a scale of tens of billions of yuan for brain science and brain-like intelligence; Shenzhen has set up multiple special funds for brain science and brain-like intelligence to support R&D and industrialization of upstream core areas such as flexible electrodes and high-throughput chips.
In terms of corporate financing, according to Wind data cited from IT Juzi, in 2025 there were 24–26 brain-computer interface financing events, with the total amount of funding nearing 1.45 billion yuan. Meanwhile, from 2026 to date, there have already been 17 brain-computer interface financing events, and the total funding amount has exceeded the full year of 2025.

Among them, Qiangqiang Technology (Qiangqiang Keji) secured approximately 2 billion yuan in financing right at the start of the year, the largest single round of financing in China’s brain-computer interface history to date; China’s first ultrasound brain-computer interface company, Formatar Technology, completed a 150 million yuan angel round, setting a new high record for angel-round financing in this field; Jieti Medical received 500 million yuan in strategic financing, led by Alibaba, with Tencent and others participating as co-investors, marking the deep deployment of brain-computer interfaces by internet giants.
The report expects that in 2026, the Chinese brain-computer interface market size is likely to exceed 5 billion yuan and maintain rapid growth; by 2030, the market size is likely to exceed 15 billion yuan.
