People’s Finance Network March 31 report: The “Internet Platform Price Conduct Rules,” jointly released by the National Development and Reform Commission, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the Cyberspace Administration of China, will take effect on April 10, 2026, for a period of 5 years. The “Conduct Rules” clarify that platform operators and operators on the platform may not violate the provisions of Article 9 of the “Implementing Regulations of the Consumer Rights and Interests Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China,” and may not, without consumers’ knowledge, based on information such as willingness to pay, ability to pay, consumption preferences, and consumption habits, use means such as data and algorithms, platform rules, and so on, to set different prices or fee standards for the same goods or services under equal transaction conditions.
