You know that guy nobody listens to when they should? Well, Davinci Jeremie is exactly that. Back in May 2013, when hardly anyone took cryptocurrency seriously, he posted a video on YouTube saying very straightforwardly: invest one dollar in Bitcoin and wait 10 years. That’s it.
At the time, Bitcoin was trading around $116.75. Davinci Jeremie wrote something like: for the price of a lottery ticket, you can hold Bitcoin for a decade and become a millionaire. If it drops to zero, you only lose a dollar—what’s the problem? He was right. In 2021, one Bitcoin hit $61,000. Just imagine who actually listened to that guy.
What’s even more impressive is that Davinci Jeremie knew exactly what he was talking about. He explained that Bitcoin was a digital currency of the global monetary system, discussed technical analysis of Ethereum and other cryptos, and understood how to make money trading. But nobody paid attention. Not even when he apologized in advance, saying he didn’t want to hear in 10 years that people wished they had listened in 2013.
What’s interesting is that this story keeps repeating. Recently, someone on social media joked: “Can you tell us who bought Bitcoin at $64,000?” And then comes the classic story: “I watched this guy on YouTube and almost bought 2,600 bitcoins for 10 pounds.” Stories like these show how timing is everything in the crypto market.
Now, applying the same logic Davinci Jeremie used to today’s days: if you invest $200 in Dogecoin at the current price of $0.09, you’d have about 2,222 DOGE. If in the next 5 or 10 years Dogecoin reaches $50, you’d have over a hundred thousand dollars. Of course, no one knows if that will happen, but that’s exactly the bet Davinci Jeremie was making 13 years ago.
The point is: Davinci Jeremie’s story teaches us to listen more to those who understand the crypto market, even when it seems crazy. Bitcoin is around $68,000 now, and opportunities keep appearing. Will you be the one who listens or the one who will regret it in a few years? Food for thought.
