The market’s “last stand” sentiment was intense. The Hang Seng Index opened 569 points higher on the first trading day of April, opening at 25,357, reclaiming the 25,000 level. Turnover was HK$6.77 billion. The Tech Index rose 2.8%, to 4,777 points. Alibaba (09988) rose more than 3%, Tencent (00700) rose 4%, Zhipu (02513) rose 15% to a new high after earnings. China Petroleum (00857) , CNOOC (00883) the two oil majors fell 1% and 2%, respectively.

【07:30】Market hopes both sides will deploy a ceasefire. Iran’s President Pezeshkian (Masoud Pezeshkian) said Tehran is willing to end the war on the condition that it is no longer subjected to attacks. U.S. President Trump, it is reported, also released ceasefire signals, with the intention of ending military actions against Iran without the Strait of Hormuz having reopened. U.S. stocks surged on Tuesday. The Dow’s gains had widened to 1,167 points at one point. The Dow closed up 1,125 points, at 46,341; the S&P 500 rose 2.91%, and the Nasdaq jumped 3.83%.
