Significant results in bypassing the Strait of Hormuz: Saudi Arabia's east-west oil pipeline transports 7 million barrels of crude oil daily
According to informed sources, Saudi Arabia’s critically important east-west oil pipeline that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz is currently transporting oil at full load capacity of 7 million barrels per day. This milestone underscores the significant effectiveness of Saudi Arabia’s emergency plan to bypass the Strait of Hormuz: the plan is designed to ensure that oil exports can continue even if its main export routes are shut down. Large numbers of tankers have been diverted to Yanbu Port on the Red Sea to load crude oil, providing a crucial “lifeline” for global supply. According to people familiar with the Saudi oil industry, the crude oil exported via Yanbu Port has now reached about 5 million barrels per day, while Saudi Arabia is also exporting 700,000 to 900,000 barrels per day of refined products. Of the 7 million barrels of crude oil delivered daily through this pipeline (the Saudi east-west oil pipeline), about 2 million barrels are sent to Saudi domestic refineries. (Caixin)
