The Boao Forum for Asia 2026 Annual Conference will be held in Boao, Hainan, from March 24 to 27. At the “Advancement and Leap of Humanoid Robots” sub-forum, regarding humanoid robots moving into everyday life, Shen Dou, Executive Vice President of Baidu Group and President of Baidu Intelligent Cloud Business Group, said that bringing embodied intelligence into the home should be the final step, which is a requirement for the upper limit of its capabilities. Industrial scenarios, by contrast, have a relatively higher degree of standardization, while home scenarios pose a greater challenge. Shen Dou believes that whether it can be done within 10 years is not certain, but the cost will definitely drop significantly, and it can certainly reach a consumer level for households. He said that cost is not the most critical issue; what needs attention are standardization, safety, and the product’s performance. He said this is something that will happen 10 years from now, and there is still time to improve and refine it.
