Do you know that fear that hits you when you need to move crypto from one platform to another? Well, I used to have it too. But after understanding how it works, it became routine. I’ll share how to transfer cryptocurrencies between exchanges safely, based on my experience moving XRP from Coinbase to Binance.

First, log into Binance, go to Assets, then Deposit On-Chain. Choose which crypto you want to receive — in my case, XRP. Here’s the most important detail: select the correct network. For XRP, it’s XRPL. For Bitcoin, it’s different; for Ethereum, it’s ERC20, and so on. Copy the address that appears, and if it’s XRP, also copy the tag. This step is critical because if you choose the wrong network, the funds could be lost.

Next, open Coinbase and click Send. Select XRP, make sure you have enough balance (obvious, right), and paste the address you copied. Enter the tag if required. Type how much you want to send — in my test, it was 1 XRP — and confirm. The platform automatically suggests the XRPL network, but I always review because it’s not a joke.

Before confirming the transaction for real, review everything again. Address, network fee, whether two-factor authentication is needed. Confirm, and the transaction is sent.

Then, start tracking. XRP on XRPL usually confirms in less than 1 minute — it’s super fast. Ethereum takes about 5 to 15 minutes, BNB Chain less than 5. You can track everything using the TXID on explorers like Xrpscan, Etherscan, or BscScan. In my case, I saw the XRP arrive at Binance quickly, received a notification, and when I open the assets tab, the 1 XRP credit is there.

The deposit details show everything: status completed, network used, address, tag, TXID. It’s like proof that it worked.

The key is this: how to transfer cryptocurrencies stress-free depends on not rushing. Confirm the network twice, start with small amounts if it’s your first time, copy addresses with the copy button (never manually), and save the TXID. If you know how to transfer cryptocurrencies correctly, it’s easy. Avoid memo or tag when not needed, but when required — like with XRP — don’t forget.

Networks have differences. ERC20 is slower and more expensive but secure. BEP20 is fast and cheap on Binance Smart Chain. TRC20 is super fast and almost free, perfect for USDT. XRPL is extremely fast, with virtually zero fees, and almost instant confirmation.

In the end, transferring between platforms is simple when you pay attention to every detail. Correct network, correct address, tracking on the blockchain. Do this, and your next crypto transfer will be smooth. I’ve done about 20 and never had a problem following these rules.
