Sai, quando penso a Vitalik Buterin, I see not just the founder of Ethereum. I see a boy who was programming at age 4 while others were playing, a true prodigy of technology. His story is fascinating and deserves to be known, especially in these times when the crypto sector is increasingly in the spotlight.

Born in 1994 into a family of Russian computer scientists, V God had a unique childhood. His father was in the IT industry, so he grew up surrounded by computers and code. When his family moved to Canada when he was 6, he found the perfect environment to develop his extraordinary talent. While his peers played, he was already creating automated spreadsheets in Excel. A different kind of person, almost superhumanly intelligent, but also quite solitary.

The real turning point came with World of Warcraft. It may sound strange, but when Blizzard canceled his character’s abilities, Vitalik had an epiphany. He quit the game and dove into Bitcoin. He wasn’t particularly interested at first, but once he started studying blockchain, he became completely fascinated. He immediately understood Bitcoin’s limitations and began imagining something bigger.

After graduating, he enrolled at Waterloo for computer science, but after a few months, he decided to drop out. He preferred traveling the world, meeting other Bitcoin developers, and deepening his understanding of the technology hands-on rather than in classrooms. By 2013, he was already out there, building the vision that would become Ethereum.

In 2014, he published the whitepaper, and the community was stunned. The same year, the Ether ICO launched, raising over $18 million in just over 40 days. A huge success. On July 30, 2015, Ethereum was officially launched, and everything changed for the sector from that moment on.

What strikes me about Vitalik is how he has maintained a certain humility despite his extraordinary success. He’s not the type to seek the spotlight. He focuses on research, innovation, and long-term vision. He founded his foundation to address global issues like poverty and educational inequality using blockchain as a tool.

Of course, like anyone who is very publicly known, Vitalik Buterin has also faced speculation and discussions about his health over the years, a topic that periodically emerges in online communities. But he continues to do what he does best: build and innovate.

The legend continues, and his impact on Ethereum and the entire blockchain ecosystem is undeniable. Whether you’re bullish or bearish on crypto, you can’t deny that this guy has changed the game.
