Abstract generation in progress

On March 29, 2026 Shanghai International Yacht Exhibition was held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. Yidong Technology showcased a full suite of electric propulsion system solutions and one-stop “turnkey” engineering services, including power systems, propulsion remote-control systems, energy storage systems, energy management systems (EMS), and intelligent vessels. Meanwhile, it also unveiled products such as the new generation electric outboard Spirit 2, the E100 lithium iron phosphate battery, the Pod full-rotation module, and more in the domestic market for the first time, fully covering commercial maritime vessel and recreational boat application scenarios.

Spirit 2 Electric Outboard Motor: Lightweight by Design, Ready to Go

Targeting pain points such as the cumbersome and labor-intensive carrying of traditional outboard motors, complex operation, and range anxiety, the new-generation Spirit 2 strikes a good balance between portability and power. It is suitable for scenarios such as daytime cruising, fishing, and shuttling, and is compatible with light vessels under 2 tons.

Spirit 2 has a rated power of 2 kilowatts and features a 3-kilowatt sport mode. The motor weighs about 10.2 kilograms. It comes standard with a quick-attach battery with a capacity of 1539 watt-hours, supporting one-key disassembly and installation, allowing one person to complete carrying and installation. The tiller handle is equipped with a color display screen that supports length adjustment and multi-position tilting, making operation more convenient. The product integrates hydraulic reverse power generation functionality, enabling it to automatically replenish charge during operation. It supports an optional inverter as a mobile power station to meet off-shore electricity needs, while also being compatible with E-series batteries to further expand range and effectively ease range anxiety.

E100 Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery: Compact Design, Flexible Expansion

The E100 lithium iron phosphate battery is a new member of Yidong’s E-series battery family. It features high capacity, small volume, light weight, and a long service life.

Its capacity is 5120 watt-hours, and its height is only 240 millimeters, making it easy to install in low-clearance spaces such as beneath boat seats. A single E100 can support full-power output for 6-kilowatt motors. With two batteries in series, not only can it match high-power motors such as the X12 electric outboard motor (12 kilowatts), it is also compatible with the Yidong eSSA intelligent system architecture, allowing users to flexibly expand their power supply based on needs. Up to 16 batteries can be paralleled. The battery uses an all-metal enclosure and includes Yidong’s self-developed Battery Management System (BMS). Its cycle life reaches 3000 cycles (up to an 80% depth of discharge), providing users with multiple safety protections. It supports dual communication protocols of 485/CAN, is compatible with Victron devices, and can be easily integrated into third-party onboard systems.

Pod Full-Rotation Module: Efficient Steering, High-Reliability Design

Targeting pain points such as difficult turning in narrow waters, poor low-speed maneuverability, and insufficient reliability of the steering system, the Pod full-rotation module is compatible with P12/P20 series pod propulsion units. It is designed to provide a reliable steering solution for vessel types that require flexible control, enabling 360° full rotation and significantly improving a vessel’s maneuverability.

In terms of steering performance, the Pod full-rotation module can achieve full-rotation steering at speeds of up to 30 km/h, with the fastest 180° rotation completed within 3 seconds (under standard operating conditions). Steering sensitivity can be configured via a 5-inch smart display screen to suit different operating habits.

In terms of reliability, the module has a designed service life of at least 5000 hours (under laboratory conditions). It uses a three-stage fluororubber oil-seal design and a waterproofing net labyrinth sealing structure. Combined with a water-immersion sensor, it enables water ingress monitoring and alarms, effectively enhancing overall safety.

Practical Across All Scenarios: International Application and Local Demonstration Benchmark

In a yacht salon titled “New Technologies · New Models · New Markets” hosted by Hai Zhi Lan Yachts during the same period as the exhibition, Yidong Technology’s co-founder and CTO Wan Xiaokang said that with global ship industry’s green transformation, technology breakthroughs and market opportunities have emerged. Yidong can provide electric propulsion system integration solutions and “one-stop turnkey” engineering services for both recreational boats and commercial vessels. It has already demonstrated mature system-solution implementation capabilities in multiple fields, bringing clean and reliable green power to more than 60 countries and regions worldwide (601330).

Yidong’s electric propulsion technology is becoming a core competitive strength in the high-end yacht market. Yidong collaborated with the French Gilles Reigner Yachts to develop the GR63 new-energy hybrid twin-hull yacht, building a diversified energy system of “solar (000591) + wind power + batteries + fuel cells,” which has earned widespread favor among users in Europe and the United States.

In the sightseeing and tour sector, Yidong provides a complete onboard electric propulsion system solution for the first 40-meter-class all-electric dining cruise ship “Karnot” on the Seine River in Paris, France. The vessel is equipped with three independent electric propulsion systems, achieving localization of core equipment and technical compatibility with international projects, meeting the European ES-TRIN 2023 standard.

Yidong also tailored a 21-meter all-electric passenger ferry for an inland lake scenic area in Wochuan County, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. Through a complete set of certification processes such as local KOMSA and EMC testing, it has become a practical reference for China’s onboard electric propulsion system entering overseas high-end markets.

Yidong Technology is also actively contributing to the high-end, intelligent, and low-carbon development of government vessels worldwide. Yidong and Guangdong Zhongwei Composite Materials Co., Ltd. jointly built the domestic first carbon-fiber electric government vessel “Shen Ren An 01” that is classed under the China Classification Society (CCS). It achieved new breakthroughs in materials, processes, and certification standards. Recently implemented, the 18.5-meter carbon-fiber electric passenger launch “RK SYNERGY” has become one of Singapore’s government’s first batch of pilot projects for electric port transportation launches.

Wan Xiaokang called on all parties in the industrial chain to strengthen cooperation and build a new industrial ecosystem of “joint technological research—ecosystem collaboration—market expansion together—benefit sharing,” to address the challenges of international competition!

Yidong Technology will also continue to advance innovation and applications of green ship technologies, helping vessels and the shipbuilding industry worldwide achieve a low-carbon transition!
