People’s Finance News on March 31: On March 31, at the opening ceremony of the 14th International Energy Storage Summit and Exhibition, Wu Guogang, a second-level inspector of the Department of Electronic Information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the scale of the new energy storage industry has been growing steadily. The MIIT will focus on four areas of work. First, plan the top-level design from a high starting point, organize and develop the “15th Five-Year Plan” for the development of new batteries, anchor to the frontier areas of new energy storage, strengthen original and leading technological innovation to provide support, and use planning to continuously enable the industry to move to higher levels in high-end, intelligent, and green development. Second, strengthen precise supervision of industrial operations, dynamically track key operational indicators such as energy storage battery capacity, output, and prices, enhance forward-looking research and risk prevention and control, curb repeated construction of low-level production capacity, and guide the industry toward scientific layout and standardized development. Third, improve the standards system, strengthen efforts to implement mandatory national standards for energy storage batteries, and accelerate the formulation of key standards such as product safety grades, performance tiering, and rapid testing. Fourth, improve the long-term self-regulatory mechanism for the industry, and focus on building a fair and orderly market ecosystem with high quality and fair pricing; break the deadlock of competition driven by homogenization and excessive internal competition; and promote the formation of a sound development pattern in which enterprise self-discipline, industry regulation, and social supervision work together to exert coordinated efforts.
