Just read about this hacker who got 18 months for stealing unreleased songs and selling them on the dark web for bitcoin. The guy's handle was Spirdark and he managed to steal over a thousand unreleased tracks from 89 different artists - including Ed Sheeran. Pretty wild that he got caught and linked through the crypto wallet. Adrian Kwiatkowski from the UK basically just left a trail straight to himself by accepting bitcoin payments. Police found everything on his devices - the stolen songs, the wallet, all of it. He pleaded guilty to like 17 different charges ranging from unauthorized computer access to selling copyright material. The detective said he wasn't just some amateur either - skilled hacker who caused serious financial damage to artists and production companies. What gets me is how the dark web and crypto keep enabling this stuff, but authorities are finally cracking down harder now. 18 months seems reasonable for the damage he caused, honestly.
