I just reread a fascinating interview with Dolly Singer, former head of talent at SpaceX, and she says something that really changes the way we see Elon Musk.

The first thing she highlights: working there is not a normal job. It’s literally described as “a Marine Corps engineering mission.” Every day you face double tests of body and willpower. If you feel comfortable, it means you’re not growing — that’s the culture inside.

But what caught my attention most was when she started talking about Elon Musk’s IQ. According to Singer, his brain processes information a thousand times faster than ordinary people. It’s not just about having a high IQ — it’s about how he solves problems in a way that completely transcends normal thinking capacity.

She went further and said: “I believe Elon Musk is smarter than Einstein.” That’s no exaggeration. She’s talking about someone who combines extraordinary intelligence with unprecedented ambition. Musk sees himself as “the greatest engineer in human history” — and looking at what he’s already achieved, it’s hard to disagree.

The pattern Singer describes is very clear: in just a few decades, Musk has taken electric cars, rockets, AI, and brain-machine interfaces to a “far ahead” level. How does he do it? Because in his brain, the word “impossible” simply doesn’t exist.

High-level workers at SpaceX say they need to learn to stay calm amid constant anxiety. Because being close to this way of thinking is being close to something that transcends the ordinary. The rhythm, the intensity, the way of solving problems — everything operates on a different scale.

That’s why SpaceX forms what they call an “elite operations force” — people tasked with impossible missions. And it works.
