Been following Andrew Kang's market calls for a while now and honestly, his track record is wild. This is the guy who co-founded Mechanism Capital back in 2020 and has been making some seriously accurate predictions in crypto.
The one that got me was his ETH call last year. Back in June 2024, when everyone was bullish on the Ethereum spot ETF launch, Kang was basically the only voice saying hold up - this isn't going to play out how people think. He predicted ETH would drop to around $2,400 and that institutional inflows would be way lower than the hype suggested. Most people thought he was crazy.
Then March 2025 hits and ETH actually dips to $2,420. His reasoning was solid too - he argued that institutions don't really care about Ethereum's complex features like staking or DeFi mechanics. They want simplicity and liquidity, which is why Bitcoin attracted all the capital. He estimated ETH would only pull in $500M-$1.5B in ETF flows, and that's basically what happened. The volumes dropped over 60% after the initial launch week.
What's interesting is Kang seems to understand this gap between what the crypto community believes about Ethereum versus what traditional finance actually wants from it. Insiders are convinced about ETH's long-term potential, but outside capital just isn't buying the narrative yet.
Beyond the macro calls, Andrew Kang has been backing projects through Mechanism Capital - stuff like 1INCH, ARB, and others. He's also apparently invested in some of the memecoin action, which tracks with his philosophy that attention and narrative drive markets.
The guy has built up a solid following on Twitter and has done pretty well for himself over the years. Whether you agree with all his takes or not, his ability to call major market moves before they happen is worth paying attention to. Worth following if you're into tracking sophisticated crypto investors and their thesis on where markets are heading.
