According to Nikkei Asia, Mitsubishi Corporation plans to officially adopt JPMorgan's blockchain fund transfer service Blockchain Deposit Account (BDA) starting in fiscal year 2026, for instant cross-border fund transfers worldwide, becoming the first Japanese company to use this service. The system records account balances in real-time through a blockchain virtual ledger, enabling nearly instant settlement 24/7 throughout the year, with a single transfer limit of up to $500 million. Additionally, Mitsubishi Corporation is testing a cross-border remittance solution using Japanese yen stablecoins jointly issued by major Japanese banks such as Mitsubishi UFJ Bank (MUFG).
