(MENAFN) Türkiye’s BIST 100 index kicked off the trading week on a cautiously positive note, opening Monday at 12,709.29 points — a marginal gain of 0.09%, or 11.1 points, reversing a losing streak from the previous session.

The recovery follows Friday’s close, when the benchmark index slipped 0.23% to settle at 12,698.19 points, with total daily trading volume reaching 112 billion Turkish liras (approximately $2.52 billion).

By 10:10 a.m. local time (0710 GMT), currency markets showed the Turkish lira trading at 44.4680 against the US dollar, 51.2180 against the euro, and 58.9840 against the British pound.

On the commodities front, gold prices climbed to $4,531.60 per ounce, while Brent crude futures held firm at $115.80 per barrel, reflecting sustained pressure in global energy markets.

The modest equity rebound signals cautious optimism among investors, though analysts will be closely watching trading volumes and currency stability in the sessions ahead as global market volatility persists.
