Recently, I've been looking at some projects that have been hyped up for 2025. It's been over a year now, so I want to see which ones really have potential and which are just hype.
Let's start with METIS. This Layer 2 project focuses on decentralized sequencers, and its technical route is indeed different from OP and ARB. Last year, its TVL grew rapidly, and the ecosystem applications were also expanding. However, the market enthusiasm has cooled down now, so it depends on whether the subsequent ecosystem development can truly meet expectations.
I’ve been observing the RNDR project. AI rendering is definitely a promising direction, and the collaboration with Vision Pro is also solid. But the claims of "disrupting Amazon Cloud" are clearly exaggerated. Right now, it still depends on whether the actual applications can scale up. The token burn mechanism does exist, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the price will go up.
TAO, as a decentralized AI computing power protocol, has a novel model, but I have to be honest—phrases like "nuclear-level connectivity" are overhyped. The project itself makes sense logically, but whether it can really become the next 100x coin is still unclear.
ONDO has an early-mover advantage in the RWA (Real-World Asset) track, and the participation of institutions like BlackRock is very tangible. However, calling it a "prodigal son" is purely marketing. The real value depends on whether the RWA market can truly explode. For now, it still seems to be in early exploration.
PIXEL, this GameFi project, was indeed popular for a while, but the risks of gaming tokens are especially high. The "average daily income of $200" data has already fallen quite a bit. Tencent’s investment is a plus, but it doesn’t guarantee stable growth.
Honestly, for something like a 100x coin, instead of trying to hide in the shadows, it’s better to understand the risks first. These projects each have their own logic and potential, but the crypto market is too volatile—any promises are unreliable. If you want to invest, start small, thoroughly understand the fundamentals, and don’t get blinded by the stories. 100x coins might exist, but more likely, you’ll see a 90% loss. Being cautious is never wrong.
