Recently, while testing some accounts, I found that many people are actually not very familiar with how to use verification code receiving platforms. Instead of buying a new SIM card each time, it's better to find a reliable virtual number service provider, which is more convenient and protects privacy. I've also encountered many pitfalls myself, so today I want to share my experience.

First, let's talk about what a code receiving platform is. Simply put, it's a service that provides virtual phone numbers, which can help you receive SMS verification codes. After registering, select the country code segment you need, bind it to the account you want to verify, and the verification code will be displayed directly in the platform backend. Compared to regular phone numbers, these verification code platforms usually charge per use, and some support monthly or bulk plans, making them quite flexible.

Among the platforms I frequently use, SMS-Activate performs the most stably. The speed of receiving verification codes is particularly fast—most of the time, within 10 seconds—and the coverage is very comprehensive. It's suitable for cross-border testing scenarios. The usage is very simple: after registering and topping up, select the country and application type, and the system will assign a number to you. Just enter it on the target website, and the verification code will be automatically pushed to the backend.

For domestic use, I often use Super Cloud SMS and XiaoNiao Code. Super Cloud SMS supports US and Chinese number segments. US numbers generally arrive within 10 to 30 seconds, while Chinese numbers are even faster, usually within 5 to 20 seconds. XiaoNiao Code mainly targets domestic applications, such as popular e-commerce and social platforms, with response times around 5 to 15 seconds. Both platforms support API integration, which is very convenient for bulk operations.

I have also used 5SIM and Getsmscode. 5SIM has a user-friendly interface, clear API documentation, and I tested it with Google and Twitter accounts without issues—its stability is quite good. Getsmscode mainly targets Chinese applications, with cheaper prices, suitable for light usage, but some less common platforms may experience delays.

When using these verification code platforms, a few points to note: First, shared numbers are often previously registered, which can sometimes trigger risk alerts. In such cases, just switch to a different number segment. Second, delays in receiving codes can occur, especially for less popular countries or applications. It's recommended to choose reputable, active platforms—don't just go for the cheapest. Also, don't rely on virtual numbers as your primary long-term number, as privacy and security cannot be guaranteed.

Based on my experience, if you're just testing interfaces, any platform that supports API is sufficient. But if you need stable registration for a specific overseas website, it's best to prepare several numbers so you can switch immediately if one becomes invalid. Many platforms have a one-click number switch feature, which is very practical and helps avoid waste.

Finally, a reminder: verification code platforms are only for protecting personal privacy, preventing spam, and registering secondary accounts. Any illegal or prohibited use is not allowed. Everyone should abide by relevant laws and regulations. Overall, SMS-Activate and 5SIM perform the best—low latency and wide coverage—making them my current top choices.
