Energy Security & Supply Chain Resilience Are Govt's Top Priorities, Says Modi At Cms' Meet
(MENAFN- KNN India) ** New Delhi, Mar 28 (KNN)** Prime Minister Modi, chairing a virtual meeting with Chief Ministers on Friday, said the global situation amid ongoing tensions in West Asia remains dynamic, stressing that economic and trade stability, energy security, and supply chain resilience are top priorities for the government.
The PM highlighted the need for continuous monitoring and adaptive policy responses. He called for close coordination between the Centre and states, emphasising timely information sharing and joint decision-making to ensure swift and aligned action, reported PTI.
** Focus on Supply Chains and Market Stability**
The Prime Minister urged states to ensure smooth functioning of supply chains and take strict action against hoarding and profiteering. He also cautioned against the spread of misinformation and rumours, stating that timely dissemination of credible information is essential to prevent public panic.
He underlined the importance of maintaining public confidence, noting that assurance regarding the availability of essential commodities would help avoid unnecessary disruptions.
** Government Monitoring Mechanism in Place**
According to an official statement, an inter-ministerial group has been operational since March 3, reviewing the evolving situation on a daily basis and taking timely decisions.
The Prime Minister also called for heightened vigilance in border and coastal states, particularly in areas related to shipping, essential supplies, and maritime operations. He advised authorities to remain alert against online fraud and fake agents exploiting the situation.
** Priority on Economic and Citizen Interests**
Reiterating the government’s focus, Modi said maintaining economic stability, protecting citizens’ interests, strengthening industry, and ensuring energy security remain central to India’s response as the global situation continues to evolve.
