U.S. court dismisses social media company X's lawsuit accusing brands like LEGO and Mars of "illegal boycotting"
Gelonghui March 27 | On March 26, local time, U.S. District Court Judge Jane Boyle dismissed a lawsuit. Musk’s social media company X accused an advertising industry coalition composed of brands such as CVS Health, LEGO, Colgate-Palmolive, and Mars of “illegal boycotting.” X sued a group of brands in 2024, accusing these companies and the advertising industry organization World Federation of Advertisers of “violating antitrust laws” and conspiring to collectively withdraw advertisements worth billions of dollars from the platform due to concerns over X’s content and safety standards. Last year, X added more brands as defendants, including Nestlé and Shell.
