What are the signs of a market top in a bear market???
From a technical perspective, during many high-level distribution phases, a typical characteristic is an abnormal sharp decline in a short period—commonly known as a headless plunge.
The features of distribution are very obvious: deeper declines, faster speed, far exceeding normal fluctuation patterns.
For example, on October 11th, $BTC experienced a sudden drop of $20,000 in a single day.
The core logic is that when prices are at high levels, if such an abnormal rapid decline occurs, it is usually not a normal correction but more likely the result of emotions and liquidity being quickly released simultaneously.
From experience, even if there is a rebound after such a movement, it tends to be a technical correction rather than a trend reversal.
Now, let's look at the recent movements of gold $XAU and silver $XAG .
Gold fell from 5650 to 4463 in just 5 days, and silver was even more dramatic, dropping from 121 to 64—a 50% decline in just one week.
Looking further at the recent movements of gold and silver, gold plummeted from 5462 to 4154 continuously, and silver from 97 to 61, with a trend of an M-top on the weekly chart.
This abnormal acceleration in decline, once it appears, warrants caution for any subsequent rebounds, rather than simply considering it a new upward starting point. Therefore, we have reason to suspect whether gold and silver have already peaked. But even if they have, gold's distribution cycle is relatively long, and those caught in the decline still have a chance to rebound to around 4800 to escape.
