China National Petroleum Corporation's first 4,000 standard cubic meters electrolysis water hydrogen production liquid separation and purification unit has been successfully produced.

On March 17, Baoshi Machinery, in collaboration with China National Petroleum Corporation Shenzhen New Energy Research Institute Co., Ltd., China National Petroleum Dushanzi Petrochemical Branch, and Xinjiang Global Engineering Company, jointly developed China’s first 4,000 standard cubic meters per hour water electrolysis hydrogen production liquid separation and purification device. It has entered on-site assembly in Xinjiang and will soon begin demonstration applications.
This marks a significant step forward for China National Petroleum in the large-scale research, development, and manufacturing of core equipment for green hydrogen production. It provides important equipment support for the group’s “14th Five-Year Plan” green low-carbon transformation and the large-scale development of the hydrogen industry.
The water electrolysis hydrogen production liquid separation device efficiently separates, washes, and cools hydrogen, oxygen, and alkaline solution produced by the electrolyzer, enabling high-efficiency recovery of the alkaline solution and preliminary gas purification. The purification device, used in conjunction with a matching gas-liquid separation unit of the same specification, adopts advanced temperature-swing adsorption and regeneration purification processes, significantly increasing hydrogen purity, which can reach 99.999%.
The water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment includes electrolyzers, gas-liquid separation and purification units, DC power supplies, control systems, and more. Currently, Baoshi Machinery has the capability to design and manufacture all major equipment for water electrolysis hydrogen production. The 1,200 standard cubic meters per hour electrolyzer developed in 2023 has already been industrially applied in Xinjiang with good results. The newly developed 4,000 standard cubic meters per hour water electrolysis hydrogen production liquid separation and purification device is high-end equipment designed for large-scale integrated wind, solar, and hydrogen storage, industrial decarbonization, cross-regional hydrogen transportation and storage, and high-end fuel cell applications. It features multi-process compatibility, adaptability, and a high level of intelligence.
The successful production of this device further enriches and improves China National Petroleum’s hydrogen energy equipment industry chain product system. It is a concrete step in Baoshi Machinery’s deep transformation from “core components” to “system solutions.” Moving forward, Baoshi Machinery will continue to focus on customer needs, vigorously promote the industrialization and commercialization of green hydrogen, and contribute equipment support for the group’s energy structure transformation and green low-carbon development.
