Special Topic: 2026 Yabuli Forum Annual Conference

The 2026 Yabuli Forum Annual Conference was held from March 17 to 19 in Yabuli, Heilongjiang. Founder and CEO of Yihaiyuan Recognition, Ren Hualong, attended and delivered a speech.

Ren Hualong mentioned that the neuroplasticity of the human brain is very interesting. It can better capture the most essential and widespread connections between things, and even discover causal relationships in space and time. Moreover, its learning efficiency is extremely fast; within a few milliseconds to tens of milliseconds, it can cache information from the five senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch—and even the sixth sense, “intention,” as soon as the information occurs.

Therefore, human memory and learning systems are actually instant learning systems, which ensure that humans can adapt well in a three-dimensional world.

He pointed out that brain-inspired computing, if it fully draws on and explores the working principles of the human nervous system, can achieve lifelong real-time online learning. This is the truly critical technological route that can promote embodied intelligence to be realized.

However, he also noted that during the development of brain-inspired computing technology, countless doubts have been raised, mostly by investors. Investors are embracing and deeply learning new technologies such as large models, VLA, and others. These technologies have huge commercial value and potentially more development space. But compared to brain-inspired computing, they are two completely different parallel paths.

“With limited resources, we must make choices—only one path can truly lead us to the future, and we must firmly believe in doing it. Because even as brain-inspired computing advances, its strategic depth remains vast, with many unresolved issues. If we want to reach the day of enlightenment, we must persevere.”

Ren Hualong stated that the application scenarios for brain-inspired computing are extremely broad. Once combined with dexterous hands, the application scope becomes even wider, almost covering all industries of human society. As long as humans still need labor and physical work, these can be effectively replaced.

This may raise social ethical issues—what if everyone becomes unemployed?

In response, Ren Hualong believes that we have experienced many industrial revolutions. After each revolution, life does not simply become easier; in fact, it often becomes busier and more competitive. Because we need to learn more knowledge, handle more complex tasks, and switch between multiple tasks more frequently. However, humans have not truly been liberated from scenarios that require manual work; they still need to exert effort, sweat, and even risk their lives in hazardous environments like coal mines, chemical plants, and natural gas fields.

The emergence of dexterous hands and brain-inspired computing will solve the last mile for humanoid robots and embodied robots, enabling these robots to truly liberate human labor.

Looking ahead, he pointed out that whether in primary industries such as agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, and sideline occupations, or in secondary industries like various manufacturing sectors—from coal, oil, natural gas, and energy extraction to machining, and finally to logistics, sorting, and transportation of products, and even the final recycling and recovery—these form a complete closed-loop industrial ecosystem. These technologies can be applied across various industries.

“Brain-inspired computing not only has a large market potential but also holds greater social significance. It will drive the transformation of the entire human social industrial structure and may even change human economic models and social distribution methods,” he said.
